The EOC is now warning us that they expect some soundside flooding in the mid sections Nags Head, KDH and Kitty as the center moves up this way. Winds here in Kitty are not that bad from the N - NE but we expect them to pick up. Rain of course.

Here in Nags Head, the wind and rain is picking up! Just a guess, but I expect gusts to about 70 and maybe 80 in next several hours...Right now live radar has the eyewall over Hatteras! The "backside" of the storm will push sound water back to the east creating serious flooding.....

Got a report that water is being pushed out of the sound in KDH by the NE winds. The fear is that the changing winds will push it back and cause flooding. Hopefully it will move away fast so that will be helpful.

I was just looking at that Ventusky app you posted yesterday; it seems like the track this morning is heading a bit more east than it was yesterday - so, hoping it will head out to Sea...

Weather channel says this is the highest winds we will get in oceanside Nags Head, my house isn't shaking and it feels like a normal winter storm to me. We moved the cars to the top of the road because we have had flooding from the sound twice in the last 5 years.

Weather channel says this is the highest winds we will get in oceanside Nags Head, my house isn't shaking and it feels like a normal winter storm to me. We moved the cars to the top of the road because we have had flooding from the sound twice in the last 5 years.

Sorry but I would not believe the weather channel if they said it would get dark tonight. The winds are going to get worse soon as this gets closer to us.

Yes, it is moving nicely to the NE so our winds will pick up a bit in the next 2 hours. They will soon start going more North than NE as Dorian leaves.

We are getting the strongest wind here in Kitty now. They are from the north so not from the east which causes the most problems. My poor rain gauge shows 4 in so far.

Gusty North winds here in Nags Head at MP 15....From my experience, Estimate 70-80 and house is shaking ......Wavy 10 reporter just got a gust of 86 at the Comfort Inn by Jennette's Pier... Power Flickering... Surprised I still got Internet....Soundside flooding on Ocraco*ke and Hatteras is Bad!
