Cool app, even better it stays away from the Delaware Beaches.

Play around with it - you can make it show wind, rain, gusts, and more. And it is pretty accurate I have found, but like most more than 3 days is guessing.

My scanner and weather radio and cell phone are all blowing up with alerts about tomorrows weather. Looks like a wet Tuesday and into Wednesday with rain and wind.

Only weird thing about Ventusky is wind direction/speed accuracy....could be a Hatteras thing (as we are so far away from the weather source) but when I used the app I'd "see" 14 out of the SSW...but on my deck it's blowing 35 out of the NE.

MyRadar and "direct" from the National Weather service seems to be optimal. Yeah, we gonna get some rain!

I use Weather Mate and it has the same wind problems. It'll say 15 MPH then I walk outside on the deck and I'm about get blown off of it. Weather Mate's radar is good about showing direction and timings so I usually just use it as a sanity check of what's about to cross the sound before I carry all of my fishing crap across the street.

I will, would have liked to have seen this over the last weekend.

We were predicting close to 3 inches of rain on Accu Weather. Ended up getting a trace in the overnight hours and the whole day was dry. Most local Farmer's Markets and Craft Fairs ended up cancelling because the weather was so severe, ended up being one of the better days recently.

Maybe a stupid question … but we are here in Avon vacationing. The weather is concerning with all the reports I have been watching.

I’ve never been here with this much rain. Should we be concerned? I’ve never been through massive flooding. Thank you!

So far we go through stuff like this many times a year. No concern at this point. I heard reports of 4-5 in of rain is what we should expect. We are a sand bar and so water drains away pretty well once it stops raining. The bad part is the worse weather will be tonight after dark.

Thank you! I appreciate your response. Looking at the radar loop this morning, it doesn’t look to bad today(like you said tonight seems to be the worst) and maybe tomorrow.

It really depends on what part of Avon. Closer to Nino's and down to the plaza with Food Lion is where you tend to see more of an issue. When in doubt call your rental agency and ask if they would recommend moving your vehicle.

That’s a good idea. Didn’t think of that . I am about 3 minutes from the food lion .

Feel sorry for the people visiting this week. Also glad we went last week. We had nice weather. Not too hot (humid of course), and really only rained overnight a couple times. Midweek we had one day that drizzled on and off and a harder downpour here and there but we just went and got lunch, ice cream, some groceries, and dinner. Worked out well to do everything on the one bad day.

We are making the best of it but not going to lie…. The weather the last two days has really stunk. Never knew it could rain this much lol. Hoping to salvage tomorrow and Friday.
