Title: Controller
Overview:
Hixen Search Group has been exclusively engaged by a company on the west side of Columbus to lead a Controller search. The company: a reputable, growing, and stable family-owned business, is searching for someone to lead accounting and reporting for the company. The Controller will report to the CFO and work closely with the President. The role is very interactive with operations and has the opportunity to really make an impact in the business.
Responsibilities:
Monthly financial statement preparation and management reporting
Month-end close work including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee all accounting including: the GL, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
Oversee an accounting team of four staff members
Plans and coordinates with banks, outside CPA firm, and other vendors
Assists with annual budgeting/forecasting and monthly analysis
Serve on the leadership team and work closely with the owners and other executives
Ad-hoc projects such as creating a financial dashboard report

Desired Candidate Profile:
6 – 8+ years of accounting experience
Bachelors in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus but not required
Strong experience with financial statements and month-end close
Hobby: Flower arranging, Yo-yoing, Tai chi, Rowing, Macrame, Urban exploration, Knife making
